SINGAPORE—JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp., Nynas Pte. Ltd. and the Indonesian Rubber Research Institute are the newest members of the International Rubber Study Group, the IRSG announced.
JX Nippon Oil & Energy is a wide-ranging business whose activities encompass petroleum and petrochemical products, natural gas, coal, electricity, fuel cells, solar power and storage batteries, according to the IRSG. It is the first company in the world to commercialize household fuel cells using liquefied petroleum gas and kerosene as fuel, it said.
Nynas Pte. Ltd. uses oil in specialized applications to create sustainable value. The company has 860 employees in 30 countries, with production facilities in North America, South America and Europe, it said.
The Indonesian Rubber Research Institute evolved from the rubber research institute founded by the Dutch in Indonesia, according to the IRSG. The institute manages research in natural rubber post-harvest technology, providing a continuous stream of new technology for Indonesian rubber planters and manufacturers.
Founded in 1944, the IRSG is the international forum for governments and rubber industry stakeholders to discuss all issues related to the production and use of natural and synthetic rubber. According to its website, the organization has 35 member countries and more than 120 associate members.
