PHILADELPHIA—Polyurethanes additive maker Chemtura reported a $23 million loss in the first quarter on sales of $606 million, blaming the loss on environmental provisions made for a site in France.
The firm's sales fell from $618 million in the same period of 2012, Chemtura said.
The supplier had operating profits of $126 million in the first three months of the year, down from $163 million in the corresponding period of 2012, the company said.
