SHANGHAI, China—TrelleborgVibracoustic plans to expand one of its two plants in China, doubling the facility's capacity in the process, to meet growing local demand.
Launched in 2010, the Yantai factory initially produced air springs and suspension components for the commercial vehicle market. It now makes passenger car bushings and recently installed a new production line to manufacture torsional vibration dampers for the Asia Pacific market.
The nearly 91,500-sq.-ft. plant will grow almost two-fold once construction on the expansion is complete. The expansion is expected to begin in the second half of 2013.
