INDIANAPOLIS—Wabtec Rubber Products has become a new member of the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers.
The Greenburg, Pa.-based rubber division of Wabtec Corp. began operations in 1874 as part of the original George Westinghouse Co. Wabtec Rubber Products provides engineering, compounding and molds rubber components. Its rubber products are composed of fabric-reinforced rubber, rubber bonded-to-metal, composite- coated rubber, pure rubber and crumb rubber.
After getting feedback about the ARPM through the industry and from members of the organization itself, Wabtec management decided that it was time to join.
"We want to take advantage of as many of the benefits offered as possible," said Darren Beatty, vice president and general manager with Wabtec Rubber Products, who mentioned training opportunities for employees, best practices and economies of scale offered by the ARPM.
