RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.—GITI Tire USA Ltd. is launching an online training program, called "Tread Academy," designed to inform North American tire dealers and consumers about the company's GT Radial-brand tires along with general information on tire technology and maintenance.
For tire dealers and technicians, the GT Radial Certified Professional Program is a way to learn specifics about products and become certified in various program modules, GITI Tire said, while consumers can read about the key features and benefits of GT Radial products, as well as find information on tire maintenance and basic tire technology.
The modules focus on all product segments such as: sport and performance; winter tires; passenger car and minivan tire; light truck tires; and commercial tire sales.
Users will be notified by email when GITI adds new products or tests, inviting them to update their certification.
The site—which is PC-, Mac-, iOS- and Android-compliant—hosts study guides that explain market positioning, target vehicles, target consumer profiles with photos and descriptions, and tread features for each product, GITI Tire said.
Dealer personnel will learn key selling points for GT Radial products available in North America along with background information on the company and facts about tire classification, manufacturing materials and more, the company said.
Each module operates as a mini test. Once users pass, they move on to the next module. Users can download and print their module certificates.
Rancho Cucamonga-based GITI Tire is the sales and marketing operation in the U.S. for GITI Tire Pte. Ltd., the Singapore-based Chinese tire maker.
