INDIANAPOLIS—Jet Rubber Inc. of Houston has joined the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers.
The manufacturer of molded products designs and builds molds as well as seals and gaskets for the oil-field sector. The company was founded in 1995.
"We're in Houston," said Jim Tarsinos, owner of Jet Rubber. "You have to specialize in the oil industry down here."
Jet Rubber looks to take advantage of a variety of the benefits that the association has to offer.
"The purchasing breaks offered to members and the webinar sessions conducted seem to be something to look into," Tarsinos said. "I hope to get a lot of value out of our membership with the ARPM and I feel that our young engineers will too.
"We are doing a lot of upgrading in our operations and of our image. We are transitioning from compression to vacuum presses to be more efficient and more productive in compression molding. As we do this we hope that our membership can help us along the way."
The initial draw that Jim Tarsinos, the owner of Jet Rubber, and his company had to the ARPM is for the access to industry handbooks and publications.
"We are becoming ISO compliant," Tarsinos said. "We are going back and normalizing our data, rewriting our QA manuals. One reason for joining is to get the updated Rubber Handbook. As we revise our prints we want to have the correct designations. Access to the publications, the library of information is important to us at this point."
