ROME, Ga.—Pirelli & C. S.p.A. has awarded its Supplier Award 2013 to nine companies from around the world, including five from the Asia-Pacific region.
Pirelli said it recognized the companies for their quality of work and for their contributions to Pirelli's premium strategy throughout the world. Pirelli used seven criteria to judge the suppliers— sustainability, quality, level of service, speed, innovation, cost and global presence.
Pirelli said that 12,000 companies around the world work with the company. The suppliers are managed by 135 purchasing specialists and chosen in categories such as safety, sustainability, level of risk, capacity for innovation, quality of materials and efficiency of supply chain.
The companies honored are: Asahi Corp, Japan, synthetic rubber; Evonik Industries, Germany, silane and silica; JHSi, China, Silane; Kiswire, South Korea, headwire; Synthos, Poland, synthetic rubber; Von Bundit, Thailand, synthetic rubber; SAE HWA, South Korea, molds and machinery; SAP, Germany, IT Solutions; HH Global, Italy, printing.
