This Technical Paper will show how using air to increase the fuel efficiency of a vehicle is a viable and worthwhile endeavor for the American motorist.In the quest to provide consumers vehicles that travel farther using less hydrocarbon fuel, many technologies are employed by the automotive industry. One of the most dramatic is the successful introduction of hybrid vehicles that use electrical energy to help propel the car. Other auxiliary power sources are being investigated including fuel cells, hydraulic and flywheel power sources.This is the first of three papers discussing tire inflation issues.
