TOKYO—Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has established a sales subsidiary in Mexico and named Gary Nash, previously vice president of Yokohama Tire Corp., president of the new subsidiary.
The new company, Yokohama Tire Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., is based in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico and is scheduled to begin full-fledged operations in May. Previously, Yokohama sold consumer, commercial and off-the-road tires to Mexico through Yokohama Tire Corp.
Yokohama said it expects the new company will help it expand its market presence in Mexico by providing direct sales, customer service and efficient distribution channels.
Nash's appointment took effect March 1. Yokohama hasn't named a replacement for Nash, who was in charge of the firm's OTR business.
