HANNOVER, Germany—ContiTech A.G. plans to expand its industrial hose business with the purchase of a new production plant in Cerkezkoy, Turkey.
The company said it is investing several million euros in the new factory, which the firm purchased from a Turkish business that had produced offloading marine and docking hoses. ContiTech took over both the plant and machinery from the Turkish company.
In mid-2013, ContiTech plans to begin manufacturing dredging and docking hoses at the site, along with big bore hoses used mainly for mining applications.
ContiTech's Oil & Marine unit operates plants and engineering offices in the U.S., United Kingdom, Hungary and Germany.
