NEW YORK—Worldwide demand for pigments should increase at a 4.5-percent clip to $14.7 billion by 2018, a study from Transparency Market Research said.
Specialty pigments are the fastest-growing segment of the business, which overall will reach 4.4 billion tons in volume by 2018, the report said. Specialty pigment demand will rise at a 5.4-percent annual rate.
Pigments are used extensively in the paint and coatings markets, and also find application in the rubber industry.
