WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Rubber Manufacturers Association has recognized four tire manufacturers for improvements in worker health and safety.
The RMA's Safety and Health Improvement Program, created in 1981, singles out member companies that achieve significant enhancements in worker health and safety.
The tire manufacturer's organization gave out three Excellence and 11 Improvement Awards.
Winning the top honors were Bridgestone Americas Manufacturing Group's Graniteville, S.C., factory; Pirelli Tire L.L.C.'s Rome, Ga., facility; and Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions' Griffin, Ga., plant.
Improvement awards went to factories operated by Bridgestone Americas, Bridgestone Bandag, Michelin North America Inc. and Goodyear.
