FLORHAM PARK, N.J.—BASF said it will boost list and off-list prices in North America for several chemicals used in polyurethanes and other materials.
The company said on April 1, or when contracts allow, it will hike prices by 4 cents a pound for butanediol, gamma-butyrolactone, and N-methylpyrrolidone. Prices for tetrahydrofuran and polytetramethylene ether glycol will rise by 6 cents a pound.
Butanediol and its derivatives are used for producing polyurethanes, engineering plastics, solvents, electronic chemicals and elastic fibers.
