DENVER—Schrader International Inc. is investing $10 million to increase capacity for tire pressure monitoring system components at its Springfield, Tenn., plant.
The company said its newly installed manufacturing line is a direct result of continued TPMS volume growth with domestic vehicle manufacturers such as Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group L.L.C., and increased service and repair demand for sensors in the aftermarket, Schrader said.
The investment has increased the Springfield plant's production capability by 8 million units, and an additional line is expected to be installed in early 2014. The expansion created 76 manufacturing jobs this year and will add about 100 next year, the firm said.
