PITTSBURGH, PA.—Bayer MaterialScience L.L.C. has declared a force majeure on its Mondur TD-80 and specialty toluene diisocyanate products in North America because of problems at its Baytown, Texas, plant.
Equipment failure at one of the two units that make the polyurethane curative at the Baytown site caused the declaration, a company official said.
Bayer didn't disclose when it expects to lift force majeure.
