HATTIESBURG, Miss.—Zeon Chemical L.P.'s Hattiesburg epichlorhydrin rubber plant survived the tornado that caused severe damage to the city and injured more than 60 people Feb. 10.
Hydrin Business Manager Clark Cable said the facility has power and is making product. To the best of the company's knowledge, the plant's personnel and their families didn't suffer serious injury.
The tornado, with winds clocked at 170 mph, caused significant damage to the downtown Hattiesburg and neighboring Petal, Miss., area, including some buildings on the University of Southern Mississippi.
