SINGAPORE—Shell Chemical said it will increase polyol capacity at its Jurong Island plant in Singapore by more than 100,000 metric tons, and add new polyol grades to its product line.
The company, which didn't release financial figures of the project, said the expansion should be completed by 2014.
The polyols upgrading will be achieved by optimizing existing facilities and deploying a catalyst that improves the on-site conversion of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide polyols, Shell said.
