SINGAPORE—Christie F. Robert, managing director of QA Plus Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. and chairman of the International Organization for Standardization's TC45 Committee, died of a heart attack in Singapore in late December.
Theodore Presler, former president of Guthrie Latex Inc., reported Robert's death. Robert's age and his exact date of death weren't available.
Robert began his rubber industry career in the United Kingdom, then went to Malaysia in 1969 to join the Guthrie Plantation Group, rising to the position of controller for rubber and cocoa. He left Guthrie in 1995 for rubber recycling technology firm STI-K Polymers Sdn. Bhd., serving as senior vice president.
Robert founded his own consultancy firms, QA Plus Asia Pacific and CDR Stats-Tech Services, in 1998. These companies provided training and technical advisory services to the rubber and agricultural industries.
