MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Bailey-Parks Urethane Inc. has added a three-axis horizontal milling machine to its machine shop that integrates with its computer numerically controlled systems.
The polyurethane custom molder said it acquired a digitally automated Haas SL-20 unit that allows it to make complex molds from steel, aluminum and other metals, and to provide turnkey molding solutions to clients that need cylindrical molds. The cost of the equipment wasn't disclosed.
Bailey-Parks said the mill also can be used to integrate company logos into molds and refine molded urethane products such as hydrocyclones and roller casings, which ensures the finished parts meet strict tolerances.
The company makes most of its molds and custom machines at its factory in Memphis.
