COLUMBUS, Ohio—Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. plans to raise prices in the U.S. and Canada for acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl acrylic and other polymers used in the adhesives, textiles, nonwovens and other specialty markets.
The supplier said prices for the materials will rise 5 to 8 cents per wet pound on Feb. 1 or when contacts allow.
Momentive said significant increases in raw material costs during the past several months—most notably for propylene, benzene, styrene, surfactants and acrylic monomers—are behind its price hike.
