AKRON—The ACS Rubber Division is publicizing several scholarships the organization and its rubber groups offer, as well as a rubber technology training award.
The rubber technology award is a $1,250 stipend to rubber industry company employees that allows them to attend the organization's spring or fall events in the year they are selected. The events include seminars and workshops, technical presentations, banquets, networking opportunities and exhibitions.
For undergraduates, the division sponsors two $5,000 scholarships to students entering their junior or senior year for the fall-spring academic year. The candidates may be majoring in chemistry, physics, chemical or mechanical engineering, polymer science or another other technical discipline relevant to the rubber industry.
Additionally, scholarships are offered by 11 rubber groups, the division said.
