HANOVER, Germany—ContiTech A.G. has opened a rubber compounding plant in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary, to bolster its presence in the region.
About 25 jobs have been created at the site. ContiTech has invested about $6.3 million in the facility, company officials said during a plant inauguration ceremony held Dec. 5.
The recently constructed factory is owned by Phoenix Legrugro Technologia Ltd., which currently operates a facility that produces air spring systems in Nyiregyhaza that employs 220.
ContiTech said its new compounding operation will supply the company's plants that produce air suspension systems in Nyiregyhaza; hose production sites in Mako, Hungary, and Carei, Romania; and customers in the region.
Existing customers of Phoenix Compounding Technology in Germany also will be supplied by the new compounding center.
