ATLANTA—An Atlanta-area community center recently recognized Liberty Tire Recycling L.L.C. for its efforts in helping rid the center's property in Atlanta of more than 1,000 scrap tires that been dumped there illegally.
The Arts Exchange honored Liberty Tire for donating its tire collection and reclamation services. The center gave Liberty Tire and other honorees their awards at its inaugural volunteer appreciation awards ceremony in Atlanta in late October, Liberty Tire said.
Without Liberty Tire's help, the Arts Exchange might have been charged as much as $2 per tire to have the tires removed from its property, said Dewey Grantham Jr., Liberty Tire regional manager.
The Arts Exchange, also known as the Southeast Community Cultural Center, describes itself as a multicultural, multidisciplinary, intergenerational arts center committed to artists as agents for positive social change.
