TOKYO (Nov. 6, 2012)—The Michelin brand ranks highest for customer satisfaction in the compact and passenger tire aftermarket in Japan, according to a new study.
Fuel efficient tire demand in the nation appears to have plateaued, according to the results of J.D. Power and Associates' 2012 Japan Replacement Tire Customer Satisfaction Index Study.
The study found that 35 percent of Japanese vehicle owners with replacement tires have fuel-efficient tires on their vehicle, as defined by the tire labeling system introduced in January 2010—an increase from 27 percent in 2011.
