NOKIA, Finland (Oct. 30, 2012)—Nokian Tyres P.L.C. said it will cut production at its Nokia tire plant in reaction to market conditions and will lay off as many as 45 at the facility in 2013.
The firm said negotiations with its staff at the factory will begin Nov. 5. The company is considering changes in the shift system and possibly utilizing a short-time working schedule.
Nokian said the changes involve about 600 workers in passenger tire production, maintenance and quality departments.
