AKRON (Oct. 3, 2012)—Paul Fitzhenry has been named senior vice president of global communications at Goodyear, effective Oct. 8.
Fitzhenry, 53, will report to Richard J. Kramer, Goodyear chairman, president and CEO, and oversee the operations of Goodyear' airship fleet. He will be responsible for leading Goodyear's global communications strategy.
Fitzhenry has more than 25 years of experience in communications. Since 2007 he has been vice president of corporate communications for Tyco International.
A native of Brampton, Ontario, Fitzhenry holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Western Ontario and a master's in public relations from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, according to Goodyear.
The Fitzhenry is filling the post held on an interim basis by Joe Ruocco, who is senior vice president of global human resources. He took on that additional duty when Chuck Sinclair retired from the post in March 2011.
