CARLISLE, England (Oct. 2, 2012)—Police continue to investigate the death of a worker at Pirelli Tyre U.K. Ltd.'s plant in Carlisle on Sept. 30.
The unnamed worker was found dead at his work station the evening of Sept. 30, Pirelli said. His identity hasn't been disclosed while the investigation continues.
“The circumstances of this tragic event are still unclear and the matter is being investigated by the Cumbria police, with Pirelli's full support,” the subsidiary of Pirelli Tyre S.p.A. said.
Pirelli employs 850 at the Carlisle factory. As of Oct. 1, work at the factory had been suspended to facilitate the investigation, Pirelli said
