MILAN, Italy (Sept. 20, 2012)—For the sixth consecutive year, Pirelli & C. S.p.A. has been named world leader in the auto parts and tires sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability World and Dow Jones Sustainability Europe indices.
The Milan-based tire maker said it had a score of 86 points compared with a sector average score of 53. This is the sixth consecutive year the firm has been named to the list
Results of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices assessment were announced Sept. 19 by SAM, a Swiss investment boutique focused on sustainability investing, and by the S&P Dow Jones Indices. A company's performance is assessed on the basis of three elements—economic, environmental and social—by which the concept of sustainability is measured, according to Pirelli.
