WAYNE, N.J. (Sept. 11, 2012)—GAF Materials Corp. plans to open a manufacturing facility for polyisocyanurate insulation used in commercial roofing systems in Gainesville, Texas.
The facility follows the company's first ISO manufacturing facility in Statesboro, Ga., which began shipping material in August.
The Gainesville unit will be integrated with the existing thermoplastics polyolefin roofing production there and will be used to service customers throughout the central U.S. The plant also will produce residential sheathing.
Construction on the 200,000-sq.-ft. foot building is set to begin in the third quarter of 2012, with operations projected to begin in the third quarter of 2013. GAF expects to employ about 20 people in addition to the 35 already working at the Gainesville TPO site.
“The opening of our second ISO facility demonstrates GAF's unwavering commitment to create efficient and cost effective solutions for our customers,” said Bob Tafaro, president and CEO of GAF.
GAF currently has three manufacturing facilities in Texas, in Dallas, Ennis, and Gainesville, along with a corporate office in Dallas and a research and development facility in Ennis.
