CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (Sept. 10, 2012)—Frank Tully, a 41-year Goodyear employee, died Aug. 28 at the age of 84.
Tully retired from Goodyear in 1993 as executive vice president for human resources. He served as the company's chief negotiator in contract talks with the then-United Rubber Workers union from 1980-93.
“Frank was a very fair man who always listened to others and valued honest feedback,” said Henry J. Inman, currently president of Goldfinch Communications who previously worked as a public relations representative for Goodyear. “This earned him respect among union officials at the bargaining table as well.”
An Army veteran from World War II, Tully graduated in 1951 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughters Kathleen Tully and Linda (Greg) Pontius; sons Michael (Sharon) Tully and Stephen Tully; and five grandchildren.
