WASHINGTON, PA. (July 27, 2012)—Pleiger Plastics Co. is planning a $2.75 million project that will add 17,600 square feet of manufacturing and office space by the end of the year.
“Our business is growing, we need more room,” said President Mike Savage.
The Washington-based company currently occupies a 38,000-sq.-ft. building. It makes polyurethane cast parts for industrial clients and Savage said the expansion will enable it to add more machinery.
He said the company makes components for 28 industry sectors and has about 3,000 active customers, ranging from coal mining to steel making. It also makes aftermarket auto components.
Pleiger worked with local officials to acquire eight acres from the county in January and just recently broke ground on the project. Overall, Savage said that it will add 15,600 square feet of manufacturing space plus 2,000 square feet of office space.
The company has 45 full-time employees and it expects to add about six more.
Pleiger received help from the county, gaining a $2.5 million loan from the Washington County Industrial Development Authority.
The company is a subsidiary of German company Paul Pleiger MaschinenFabrik GmbH & Co. K.G.
