TOKYO (July 25, 2012)—Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has started production and will start shipment of marine hose products in compliance with the Oil Companies International Marine Forum's new international standard, GMPHOM2009.
Yokohama said compliance with the standard will boost sales of its Seaflex hoses. Marine hoses are widely used for single buoy mooring systems or Floating Production Storage and Offloading systems, as they are "indispensible" for handling crude oil, Yokohama said.
GMPHOM2009 requires higher durability and reliability by introducing demanding test methods such as 25,000-time dynamic fatigue test, the company said.
Yokohama will supply the hoses for projects in Latin America, Asia, Middle-East and other regions with GMPHOM 2009 certified hoses.
