BURNIE, Md. (July 19, 2012)—Private equity firm AEA Investors L.P. has formed SB Holdings to combine two of its holdings that market value-added products in the industrial distribution sector.
SB Holdings will include Singer Equities Inc. and Bishop Lifting Products.
Burnie-based Singer Equities and its affiliates distribute industrial rubber products, including industrial, metal and hydraulic hose and fittings; conveyor belts; gaskets; and other goods. It also offers a variety of added services through its 22 locations.
Bishop has eight locations and fabricates and distributes wire rope, synthetic slings, rigging hardware and other lifting products.
“Bringing these two groups together under one umbrella made sense when considering common customer types, economies of scale and cross selling opportunities,” said SB Holdings CEO Otis Dufrene.
Jeff Bishop is set to remain as the president of Bishop Lifting Products and Don Fritzinger will stay as president of Singer Equities.
Dufrene said both companies will keep working as independent entities but be able to take advantage of opportunities that may arise in both fields.
