GLEN BURNIE, Md. (July 3, 2012)—Singer Equities Inc. has acquired Kansas City, Mo.-based rubber product distributor Hanna Rubber Co., giving Singer its first Midwest location. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hanna was founded in 1925 and specializes in selling gaskets, extruded and molded rubber products, along with a full line of industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings. Scott Assyia will serve as vice president and general manager of Hanna, with Al Kelly serving as vice president of sales and Dennis Logsdon as vice president of operations.
Hanna Rubber was part of the estate of James Vandergrift, who owned and operated the company from 1974 until he died in 2009.
Hanna is the seventh platform company for Glen Burnie-based Singer Equities, which is owned by AEA Investors L.P. and part of the firm's management team. The purchase gives Singer 22 locations.
Singer Equities President Don Fritzinger said he is excited about the experienced people that will be joining his firm from Hanna and “the geographic footprint, and product and end market diversification this acquisition provides.”
