TIANJIN, China (June 18, 2012)—Tianjin Wanda Tyre Group Co. Ltd. is increasing capacity to include semi-steel-reinforced ATV tires and eventually larger agricultural radials, company officials told a delegation from the China Rubber Industry Association recently.
Tianjin Wanda expects to increase annual capacity by 4 million units by this September, according to a report published on the CRIA website.
The cost of the project wasn't divulged. Officials said the move to add radial farm tires will required more automated building machinery to reduce its exposure to high labor costs, the CRIA said.
Tianjin Wanda reported sales of $279 million last year, 90 percent of which was derived from exports, including original equipment business.
