BARABOO, Wis. (June 6, 2012)—Humane Manufacturing L.L.C., a Baraboo-based manufacturer of mats and flooring made from recycled rubber, is laying off 19 workers temporarily, the company has disclosed.
The company reported the layoffs to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The company has been molding rubber mats for weight rooms and animal stalls since 1972, and was founded in 1907 as a metal fabricator for dairy barn equipment. Executives of Humane Manufacturing did not respond to requests for comment.
The firm operates plants in Baraboo and makes variety of recycled rubber mats and flooring for the industrial, fitness, animal, camping and custom markets, according to its e website said. It uses revulcanized rubber buffing material for its products.
