LANGLEY, British Columbia (May 31, 2012)—Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. will raise prices on selected consumer and commercial tires July 1 by 2.5 to 3 percent and averaging 5 percent on commercial tires.
Yokohama is dropping the prices on selected AVID Ascend premium all-season tires by 6 to 14 percent and on the AVID ENVigor ZPS run-flat line by 14 to 24 percent.
Yokohama cited fluctuations in raw material costs, increasing transportation costs and a changing valuation of the Canadian dollar for the changes.
Yokohama said prices for the AVID ENVigor all-season high-performance touring tires will rise on average 2.5 percent, while prices for the Geolander H/T-S light truck tires will increases 2.8 percent on average.
The commercial tire line increase will average 5 percent but could range up to 6 percent on selected products, Yokohama said.
Yokohama Tire (Canada) last raised prices on consumer tires on Jan. 1, by up to 8 percent.
