CHESTERTOWN, Md. (May 25, 2012)—Hose fittings and accessories firm Dixon Valve & Coupling Co. has opened a manufacturing facility for its newly renamed and expanded Specialty Products Division.
The 44,000-sq.-ft. plant in Chestertown has become the home of Dixon Specialty Products. Previously known as Dixon Specialty Hose, the division is responsible for the engineering, development and manufacturing of various specialty products, including ball joint armor and other armored hose products, PTFE hose and fitting components, and King Safety cables.
Taylor Goodall was named divisional manager of DSP. He as been employed by Dixon since 2003 and most recently was vice president of distribution.
Goodall said the dedicated facility for DSP represents an expansion of available specifications for manufacturing and research and development by about 30 percent. The expansion also includes the installation of two CNC machines plus a vertical million machine. The division supplies such markets as steel mills, oil field equipment operators, wastewater treatment plants, and pulp and paper mills.
Investment in the facility wasn't disclosed.
