WASHINGTON (May 17, 2012)—American Honda Motor Co. Inc. is voluntarily recalling 52,615 Acura TL sedans, model years 2007 and 2008, to replace defective power steering hoses, the company announced.
The power steering hoses may deteriorate over time, causing power steering fluid leaks. The leaks could cause loss of power steering or, in some cases, engine fires, especially if the fluid drips onto catalytic converters, Honda said.
Honda will start mailing notification to owners of the vehicles in mid-June. Until then, Acura owners may go online to www.recalls.acura.com or call 800-382-2238 and select Option 4.
