INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 16, 2012)—The Association for Rubber Product Manufacturers has conducted its first series of webinars for its members, covering topics such as human resources, purchasing and operations.
The 60-minute sessions were aimed at giving the ARPM's member companies an opportunity for their staff level people to discuss ways to be more effective and efficient, and to review common issues and challenges, the organization said.
“It was good to take the time with the group and hear that we are not alone, other companies have issues, too,” said Christine Angiocchi, operations manager with Custom Rubber Corp. of Cleveland. She participated in a webinar on human resources.
“Talking with companies in our own industry was also good,” she said. “We all tend to have the same issues. It is as if we had 10 or 12 experts bouncing scenarios off each other to see how they might be handled.”
The ARPM also held webinars for CEOs and presidents, and for purchasing/buyers.
The “Member Exchange Group” sessions are tailored for member professionals that work in common positions, the ARPM said.
The association, formed in 2010, has more than 35 member companies from the non-tire side of the rubber industry.
