NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 10, 2012)—Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations has promoted Mitch Burke to plant manager at the company's Warren County, Tenn., truck and bus tire plant, where he's worked since 1989.
Burke takes over the position from Bruce Johnson, who has been plant manager of both the Warren County and LaVergne, Tenn., truck tire plants since 2010. Johnson continues as plant manager at LaVergne, Bridgestone said.
Burke began as a junior engineer at Warren County in 1989 and has taken on engineering and management roles of increasing responsibility since, most recently as division manager, operations.
“It is rare to find someone with the blend of production and technical expertise that Mitch has. His leadership will be a great addition to the Warren County team as they continue to set the global standard for manufacturing excellence,” said Barry Owens, vice president, Bridgestone Americas Manufacturing Group.
The 22-year-old Warren County plant employs 900 and is rated at 8,100 units a day.
