RED BANK, N.J. (May 3, 2012)—Ansell Ltd. has completed its purchase of the Trelleborg Protective Products business.
The deal, announced April 11, was for about $32 million. Ansell will operate the former Trelleborg business under the name Ansell Protective Solutions, which will be part of its Specialty Markets Global Business Unit. Operations for the unit are mainly based in Sweden and Lithuania, according to Trelleborg.
The business makes and sells chemical protective suits, professional dry diving suits, escape hoods, medical patient care and tents/shelters to first responders, military, aerospace and industrial customers. Ansell will continue to sell the goods under the Trellchem, Viking and Trelltent brand names.

Trelleborg said the sale is expected to bring an after-tax capital gain of about $19.3 million.
