INDIANAPOLIS (April 30, 2012)—Progressive cavity pump manufacturer Seepex Inc. has joined the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers.
Based in Enon, Ohio, the company is the U.S. production arm of Seepex GmbH of Bottrop, Germany, which makes progressive cavity pumps for delivering low to highly-viscous, aggressive and abrasive media. Rubber is a critical component within the specialized pumps that Seepex manufactures using different types of rubbers for various applications, the ARPM said.
“We had been searching for the right organization to connect with and participate with in the rubber industry,” said Kamran Mirza, director of business development with Seepex. “Colleagues suggested looking into the ARPM and we decided to join because we feel that our membership will allow us to meet and get to know new individuals and businesses.”
The ARPM has more than 35 rubber industry member companies. The two-year-old group's origin was as the non-tire membership of the now tire-industry-only Rubber Product Manufacturers Association. The association works to provide manufacturers with beneficial programs and services, as well as networking opportunities. Last week it held its annual Environmental, Health and Safety Summit in Elyria, Ohio.
Mizra said his company sees the ARPM as a forum to help its business, as well as others.
“If we associate with the right people in the in the rubber industry we will learn about new and different rubber products and processes that may be helpful to our operations,” he said. “We also feel that there may be something that we do in our business that others might find interesting and learn from. This relationship can be good and productive for everyone.”
Seepex was founded in 1972 and serves customers in the chemical, food, paper, petroleum and gas, and environmental industries.
