ATLANTA (April 25, 2012)—Liberty Tire Recycling will partner with Keep Atlanta Beautiful and the City of Atlanta Tire Commission to sponsor the 2012 City of Atlanta Tire Roundup April 28.
The tire roundup will feature tire collection and recycling in seven of Atlanta's districts as part of an ongoing effort to control illegal tire dumping in the city, Liberty Tire said. The first tire collections will take place at 9 a.m. at 365 Cleveland Road in Atlanta, it said.
All tires collected in the roundup will be taken to Liberty Tire's Atlanta facility for processing. They will be made into Liberty Tire's full range of eco-friendly products, including alternative fuels and rubber mulch for landscaping and playgrounds.
At a tire roundup in March, Liberty Tire collected more than 3,500 scrap tires for recycling, according to Dewey Grantham Jr., Liberty Tire regional manager.
“This latest event encompasses even more collection sites around the city, so we look forward to substantially surpassing the number of tires collected last time,” Grantham said.
