ANN ARBOR, Mich. (April 11, 2012)—Jyco Sealing Technologies Inc. said it has won another global contract for automotive weathersealing.
The company said the deal is for glass run channel, inner belt strips and outer belt strips weatherseals, which will be made of thermoplastic vulcanizate instead of traditional EPDM rubber.
Jyco said TPV will allow the company to simplify fabrication, reduce processing times, replace metal inserts with thermoplastic components and practically eliminate scrap rates.
The Ann Arbor-based company said its customer doesn't want to be identified.
In January Jyco won a weathersealing contract for the global introduction of 2014 model mid-size pickup trucks. The customer in that deal also wasn't disclosed.
