AKRON (April 10, 2012)—Enki Tan, executive chairman of GITI Tire Co. Ltd., will deliver the keynote address at the Tire Society's 2012 conference on tire science and technology, held in conjunction with the International Tire Exhibition and Conference.
The keynote is slated for 9 a.m. on Sept. 18 at the I-X Center in Cleveland. The 2012 gathering is the Tire Society's 31st annual meeting.
GITI is a Singapore-registered Chinese tire manufacturer with a wide range of tires sold in more than 100 countries around the world. It is considered the 15th largest tire maker worldwide, with 2010 sales of more than $2.2 billion.
Tan also is a director of P.T. Gajah Tunggal Tbk., the largest Indonesian tire manufacturer and an associate company of GITI Tire. He is the vice chairman of Gul Technologies Ltd., a printed circuit board manufacturer, and the president director of Bukit Baiduri Energi, an Indonesian thermal coal mining company.
