KOTTAYAM, India (March 27, 2012)—Natural and synthetic rubber production increased in the final months of 2011 in India, according to a report from the India Rubber Board.
NR output grew 3.7 percent to 106,800 metric tons in December compared with a year earlier. For the first nine months of the fiscal year production rose 4.6 percent to 681,900 tons, the report in Rubber Statistical News said.
SR production jumped 21.6 percent in December to 10,503 tons, in the monthly comparison, the study said. In the nine-month period, SR output climbed 1.2 percent.
