LEVERKUSEN, Germany (Feb. 29, 2012)—Lanxess A.G. said it will increase the price of its Baypren-brand chloroprene rubber by up to $210 a metric ton effective March 1. The firm blamed steeply rising raw material and energy costs for the price hike.
CR is used as a solid rubber for producing cable sheathing, air spring bellows, hoses and belts, and as a latex for the production of adhesives.
