(Jan. 23, 2012)—The McLube Division of McGee Industries Inc. has developed a water-based rubber lubricant and antistick coating for rubber and plastic parts.
The company said its MAC-1023 performs well as an assembly and insertion lubricant with various parts and compounds. It dries to a clear, colorless film coating with excellent durability, lubricity and superior slip properties as well as an extremely low coefficient of friction, the firm claims.
McLube said users of MAC-1023 have noticed a significant reduction in the force and time required in assembly. The coating is chemically and thermally stable.
The product finds application in automotive assembly, O-rings, seals, bushings, hoses and grommets. It is environmentally and worker friendly, and can be applied to rubber, plastic, composite, sponge and all types of metal.
