BOSTON (Jan. 6, 2012)—Cabot Corp. is launching a process which mixes carbon black with rubber latex, aiming to achieve high levels of dispersion within the material.
The latex is then processed into solid rubber, to create a rubber masterbatch, the company said.
The material is being launched under the name of Transfinity Elastomer Composite.
Cabot said that in the mining, defense, automotive and aerospace industries, customers can use Transfinity materials to engineer “significantly longer lasting and/or smaller products for demanding applications.”
